"The Green Mile" is not a perfect film or can match the reputation of "The Shawshank Redemption." Both films are perfect but there are some things that distinguish them apart from the messages about life as well.

It's a movie that makes you crybaby. Almost every scene, you will cry. In essence, you're not human if you don't cry when watching this film. Three hours, for me, isn't a long duration because I even feel it so fast and even I want more than that.

It's not one of the films that are said to be tragic or horror like one of the electric chair scenes. It's a pure drama movie. Frank Darabont does seem to be more focused on the character itself than the plot, but the characters are the plot.

Stephen King as a writer is also one of the storytellers who is so strong in his works besides writing horror genres. There is an introduction, conflict, and conclusion. That sounds simple but "The Green Mile" for me isn't that simple.

It's a movie that doesn't get too much appreciation in that year.
