Review of The Green Mile (1999) by Danny O — 25 Jul 2015
The Green Mile is an engaging and emotional film. The performances by Tom Hanks and Michael Clarke Duncan are great, and the supporting cast is just as good. The story has some very interesting elements to it, dealing with the realistic horrors of prison while mixing supernatural elements into it.
The direction makes this an amazing movie, as we start to sympathize for the convicted killer John Coffey. The writing is also great, making us care about the characters and invest in their story. The ending is emotional and unforgettable.
In the end, The Green Mile is a must see movie that left me thinking about it for days. It has a powerful and emotionally resonant story that left me speechless, and has plenty of twists and turns to keep the viewer guessing.
The Green Mile gets 5/5 stars (A+).
