Review of The Green Hornet (2011) by Paul B — 07 Apr 2013
Well, I was expecting Rogen paired with Christoph Waltz to be somewhat entertaining, but after viewing this I couldn't help but feel this was forced on so many levels. Like the movie that tries to get by on star power yet forgets to add a freaking script that actually works, this follows that pattern better than I possibly could not have hoped for.
The action sequences were a cheaper version of Tim Burton's Batman and dialogue and story left me feeling uncomfortable at times (that annoying uncomfortable when you know the dialogue is really retarded).
How they managed to mess up this premise is beyond me considering the acting power in this film. Waltz and Tom Wilkinson are Oscar heavyweights yet their talent was sadly squandered. I had never personally even heard of director Michel Gondry before this came out so maybe that was part of my problem.
I was expecting it to suck and it delivered. The guy was known for producing music videos. Maybe he should stick to his day job.
