Review of The Green Hornet (2011) by Rodney E — 17 Mar 2013
Takes just about every comic-book trope and turns it on its head. The sidekick? He's the one with skills. The hot blonde? She's the only one with a brain. The masked man? Exactly as disconnected as one would have to be to dress up as a superhero.
Some friends dismiss it because they find Rogen's character impossible to respect/admire/etc. I say: Forget about that stuff and enjoy the satire!
This is what brilliance looks like when it collides with mindless comedy. My only complaint is the two or three moments when the violence ramped a bit too far.
