The Green Hornet is an action comedy starring Seth Rogen, Jay Chou, Cameron Diaz and Cristoph Waltz, and it was directed by Michel Gondry. While I am a huge fan of some of Gondry's previous work (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, the Science of Sleep), I was extremely disappointed by this film. This film had a ton of potential given the talent involved, but it mostly fell flat when it tried to try something different. The performances were generally fine, especially Cristoph Waltz as the villain in the film. I would love to see a Green Hornet movie done right because it has a lot of potential and can be extremely entertaining, but I feel that Seth Rogen was a terrible choice to play him. Seth Rogen's Green Hornet wasn't witty or even the least bit likeable, actually he was extremely annoying at times.

This movie was also edited really strangely, using a lot of unnecessary slow-motion and for the most part if didn't work all too well and made the film look very sloppy and the action was all over the place. The film can be entertaining, but only sometimes. The highlight of the film for me were the ending action sequences, especially the ones with the car. There was also a terribly implemented romantic side-story between Seth Rogen and Cameron Diaz that failed on almost every level because they had absolutely ZERO chemistry.

While the film was mostly bad, the things the film got right were pacing, an entertaining villain, and 1 or 2 action sequences.

I'd give this film (4.5/10).
