Review of The Greatest Show on Earth (1952) by Megan . — 27 Mar 2008
I grew up with my father working as a clown so I have a deep connection with the circus. So naturally I loved every second of it. It made my hair stand up when he fell from the trapise, though the story comes off a bit vauge it was important that you pay attention.
Not to look away or you may miss something like the real circus, and for what it's worth you get to see gorgeous Dorothy Lamour in one of her few role without a sorong. Just the circus is a load. It's the daring it's the look in the faces of the kids and the kid inside every adult.
You feel the essence of the magic that is in the circus. And what it meant before TV and cheap thrills. Timeless.
