I have to start out saying a lot of things in this movie are cheesy. But it only seems to make it more sublime due to Miike's sly genius. It's much more of a family movie than I'm used to from him, for which I was kind of grateful too.
Anyway, the folklore/mythology elements in this movie were wonderful, and the climatic showdown and surprise ending were fantastic.
