Review of The Great White Hype (1996) by Nate H — 18 Mar 2010
An odd spoof of The Great White Hope (concoted by Ron Shelton and Tony Hendra, of all people!) about an arrogant boxer who is undefeated in his professional career, until his manager talks the only boxer to defeat him (in amateur boxing) into challenging him again.
A pretty good examination of the politics and corruption of sports, but the film's script could've been shorter (or at least tighter) in spite of the awesome cast assembled.
