Review of The Great Wall (2016) by Romanita H — 19 Feb 2017
This is not an Oscar contender, but I thought the movie was good for the genre of the film. It had some meaning in the storyline. Damon was well cast in my opinion. He should've skipped the accent, but he was not wrong for the part.
I think the critics have judged it to harshly. I didn't see a white man saving the world. I saw a white man helping an Asian woman general save the world and being saved himself by her. Again, it was not a movie for the ages, but it was a movie worth watching on a date night.
