A few creative effects keep this mish-mash from being a total loss. Clearly, character development was not a priority, although Pedro Pascal's sniping swashbuckler is kind of fun. Matt Damon drowsily mumbled through most of his scenes.
And the giant gecko-like monsters? Old hat.
