Review of The Great Wall (2016) by Dylan C — 09 Apr 2017
I cut a lot of slack to fantasy movies, but there was just too much stupidity to ignore. Also a bit uncharacteristic for Matt Damon, who otherwise seems aware sensitive to issues of race... Yet in this case we have 10,000 Chinese who have studied and practiced their whole life in martial arts and combat, only to be saved by the white guy bandit who shows up to teach them how to fight.
The CG graphics are cool. If you can ignore a constant barrage of scenes that violate laws of physics (meaning, outside the story line... Not magic or fantasy, but simply error), you might enjoy some of the visuals and fight scenes.
