Entertaining blend of the over-the-top-action of Asian cinema and American banter. The creature effects are decent but not very subtle, making this an actual fantasy movie with little basis in reality or historic events.
Still, the action sequences are colorful and fun, everything in between a bit generic and boring. Works as mindless entertainment anyway.
