This was a spectacular fantasy action film with amazing cinematography typical of Zhang Yimou. The only thing missing was Zhang Ziyi and Gong Li. The acting of the western cast was sub-par. I'm a fan of Matt Damon but what the heck happened here? The script certainly didn't help.
In sum, the visual imagery, cinematography and Zhang Yimou as director made this film completely a completely worthwhile watch.
