Review of The Great Raid (2005) by Chase H — 12 Jul 2007
A great film that tells a previously untold story. It focuses on the Army Ranger led raid on the infamous Cabanatuan Japanese POW camp. The story is very good at showing how brutal the Japs were, and how the only thing keeping one prisoner alive is the thought of his sweetheart.
Noteworthy performances by Benjamin Bratt and James Franco. It starts off a little slow, but builds up well into the climax. Overall a very good movie. I would recommend picking this one up.
