Review of The Great Raid (2005) by Elliott F — 19 Jul 2009
Critics' criticism for this movie is misplaced, and frankly stupid. If any WWII movie dealing with Japanese treatment of American POWs and Philipino civilians did NOT show their brutal mistreatment of them, the movie should be criticized for falsification of history.
So the only reason why so many 'critics' don't like a lot of patriotic American WWII films is simply a typical knee-jerk, bleeding-heart liberal animosity to anything patriotic. Go ask a vet who was a POW in a Japanese internment camp how they were treated.
Go ask a Phillippino civilian who was around in WWII how they were treated.
