Review of The Great Race (1965) by Aaron C — 05 Jul 2007
This is where the Wacky Races cartoon came from. This is a long film, but so much fun you don't notice. Lemmon is comic genius, as is Peter Falk (why do Columbo after this?)and to take Tony Curtis at his most dashing and heroic phase and make him the straight man to Lemmons prat falls was a sheer coup.
Always gets compared to Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines, but this makes all other films of that ilk look boring.
