Review of The Great Race (1965) by Jens S — 04 Apr 2010
A childhood favorite of mine that still works great nowadays, as aged as it is. It's basically a roadrunner/coyote cartoon with humans racing around the world. That's two hours of slapstick and irony, Western movie, adventure film and cloak and dagger fighting all in once with the biggest tart fight of film history.
Everyone involved in this probably had a lot of fun creating it, and that shows. A few of the lines are classic, Jack Lemmon is particularly awesome as evil Professor. They just don't make movies like this anymore.
