Review of The Great Passage (2013) by Marvin B — 24 Dec 2013
Hollywood these days would rarely gamble on a film like this one, where the hero's main objective is to complete his life's work: a dictionary of contemporary Japanese words. Taking place over a decade, this meditative film takes its time to establish a deep and involving drama with an outstanding cast of characters.
It's slow, but ultimately rewarding.
