Review of The Great Outdoors (1988) by Justin A — 22 Oct 2008
Boring, pointless, cliche, unfunny. It's just a bunch of random pratfalls strung together, and maybe they weren't overdone when the film was made, but I feel like I've seen them all before.
There is no plot until the final act. You'd have to be really immature to find consistent entertainment value here. Candy almost entertained me at a couple of points, but really the only funny thing about the entire film is the look on Aykroyd's face when he's being attacked by the bear.
