Review of The Great Muppet Caper (1981) by Alexis M — 02 Mar 2008
This movie should be required viewing for any couple considering marriage. If one of the two barely laughs through the whole film, the other must dump their ass pronto, because this other person clearly has little to no sense of humor.
Henson brings his furry crew full cycle with this trip to merry olde London. The jokes are sharper and more frequent, the musical numbers are fantastic and fun, and the romance between Kermit and Miss Piggy has never been hotter.
Even the celebrities are on the ball (or, in this case, the baseball diamond), especially John Cleese, in a very, very funny cameo. The finale, the "Caper" of the film, is, in all seriousness, one of the most exciting and hilarious climaxes ever shot.
I'm not joking for a second.
