Review of The Great Muppet Caper (1981) by Matthew B — 30 Mar 2008
Running a close second to The Muppet Movie, for me, this film runs at a slightly slower pace but benefits from highly clever songs with brilliant and witty lyrics. The work of Charles Grodin as the bad guy puts all other black hats to shame, as you actually do end up feeling for the guy at the end, despite him still being nothing more than a two-dimensional bad guy in a kids' movie.
Sporting some of the best Muppet songs of all time, this film is a classic foray into the Muppet world of mayhem and happy endings. Well worth the time if you've never seen it.
