Review of The Great Muppet Caper (1981) by Joby D — 03 Dec 2008

For some reason, I always assumed the original muppet movie was the only good one. Although the plot for this one sucked supremely, the comedy, music, and mind-blowing puppetry made up for it. My jaw dropped as I watched and army of muppets riding bicycles! And Kermit doing tricks on it.

For a movie that was pre-CGI, I just couldn't figure out how it was done. And although the spectacle is there, it's not the foundation of the movie. The movie is based around the charm, the magic, the comedy, the muppets completely obliterating the 4th wall.

I loved the crap out of this movie.
