Review of The Great Mouse Detective (1986) by Ryan P — 18 Jul 2008
Surprisingly smart script makes up for some lame and underwhelming animation. Looks more like a 60s Disney film than a 1986 production, although the Big Ben scene is visually impressive. The battle at the end of the movie is easily the best part of this mediocre film, along with the terrific "Ratigan" number that kind of set the table for fun future Disney tunes such as "Under the Sea" and "Be Our Guest".
