Review of The Great Mouse Detective (1986) by James S — 29 May 2010
I always thought that this was the best of the "forgotten" Disney cartoons, and after seeing it after several years, I still believe that. But not quite as much. I found the animation...in places.
..a little lacking (reading the credits proved this). The story was outstanding, and the use of computer animation excellent. The characters were strong, and Vincent Price was beyond words. For once, the strongest criticism is the animation itself.
Still, I will watch it again...and again...and again. It is still the best of the forgotten.
