Review of The Great Mouse Detective (1986) by Joshua F — 23 Mar 2011
One of Disney's most underrated classics and the true kick-off point for the Disney Renaissance. Correcting the mistakes from the Black Cauldron Disney manages to produce a film that is both dark and kid friendly with its splendid (and sometimes frightening) visuals, excellent soundtrack by Henry Mancini, and lovable characters.
Disney also seems to have a knack for casting great actors as great bad guys as Vincent Price absolutely steals the show as Professor Ratigan.
