It is unfortunate when filmmakers style movies to be something other than the book we love. Yes sometimes it may work (Kubrick ? Shining), and we all have our own vision, the play unfurls in our mind'seye and I prayed this gem would not fall victim the classic adaptation mess.
Thankfully, it did not. The scenes are rich. The actors are strong and their chemistry really allows the story to come through. I'd say good work to all those involved. Hope they can get 'Jacob Have I Loved' on the big screen too.
