As usual, I love Baz Luhrmann's visual style... which made me wonder if I ever liked this story much to begin with, as the movie left me feeling vaguely 'meh'. It's probably because Daisy is so vacant that I don't understand why anyone would go this far for her! But then again, I suppose that's part of the theme of wasteful excess.
