Review of The Great Gatsby (2013) by Helen D — 26 Jul 2014
One of the worst adaptations I have seen. Poor casting, poor acting and over the top production, which lost all of the nuance of the book. I thought DiCaprio might be the worst thing about this film; I hadn't realised that Spiderman had been cast as Nick! DiCaprio put in a better performance than I expected, but I still didn't find him convincing as Gatsby.
In my mind, Gatsby was always Daniel Craig.
