Review of The Great Gatsby (2013) by Jacob C — 22 Dec 2015
80/100 - There's not much more lavish of a novel than The Great Gatsby, so this over-the-top luxurious treatment by Baz Luhrmann is deserved and quite well done. Leonardo DiCaprio oozes charisma as Gatsby himself, turning in one of his best recent performances.
There is also a strict adherence to the source material, which is nice to see. The only problem is Tobey Maguire's casting as Nick Carraway, as he tends to be a little one-noted. However, this is still the best screen version of Gatsby to date.
