Review of The Great Gatsby (2013) by Tehe T — 17 Mar 2014
It starts off as trying to be this glamorous, luxurious, and beautiful movie. Though it was it was just a pretentious and annoyingly loud movie that was quite dumb. The acting was pretty bad, everything was quite unrealistic, and finally but not least...stupid as hell. If 3/4 of the movie was only the movie...it would surely got a 1/5 stars for me. Though it started to piece itself together, even though it kind of dragged on. The ending to me is what stuck with me and I hope it was in the book. Because it did have heart and was one of the better endings I've seen in a long time.
Overall the movie was just alright and could have been a lot better if Baz didn't direct it. He brought the idiotic over the top glamour and quite terrible dialogue. So because of some heart and soul to the movie. I'm going to give it a fresh rating, barely mind you. For some reason they turned a movie that could have been a 4/5, into a exaggerated messing that succeeds only by the last 30 to 40 mins. 7/10.
