After just reading the book this movie stayed very true to the story. However I have never been a fan of narrated movies in general. The narration seemed to work in the book but not so much for me in the movie.
Users here seem to love the looks of the film but I thought the CGI looked cheap and poorly executed. Gatsby's house itself looks like something a animation student would make. Voice over work in the car scenes was annoying.
I wasn't a fan of the hip hop music they used - took away from the 20's feel.
