Review of The Great Gatsby (2013) by Chris U — 30 Apr 2016
Without Leonardo DiCaprio this movie does't even earn a single full star. The movie is supposedly set in the 1920's yet has only modern music from the likes of Jay-Z etc. Tobey Maguire is annoying and moronic and the rest of the cast is just sort of there mindlessly filling in space and reciting their lines.
I was never really drawn in until the last few minutes and even that became boresome. This movie has some visual brightspots but the camera work and cgi has much to be desired for most of the shots.
