Review of The Great Gatsby (2013) by Jason V — 20 Apr 2014
While some think that the style of this movie is "off" or "wrong", you have to realize that it was done intentionally. By having modern aspects such as the music of the 2000's in a 1920's based film, Luhrmann shows how Gatsby is timeless.
(By the way if you listen closely the actual music played at the parties is closer to jazz. They just add the hip hop in for the viewers sake).
