Review of The Great Gatsby (1974) by Sergio P — 01 May 2008
Awwwwh this was a complete and utter let down, after reading and studing the novel, possibly one of my favorite novels ever, I was hoping for an equally brilliant watch... sadly I didnt get it. everything from myrtle being skinny, tom being whippety, them completely leaving out some of the most important parts of the book.
.. the last paragraph for instance, possibly one of the most important in the whole novel, completely left out... and gatsbys smile!!!! gatsby's smile was ment to be gorgeous, was ment to be what made gatsby so great, but it was utter bollocks!! robert redford was a completely bad cast for this movie.
.. although I think they hit daisy and nick on the head... they werent that bad. tbh I think they could have done a much better job here, although I think they captured the main tone of the book, they didnt do it justice, dissapointed to say the least.
