Review of The Great Gatsby (1974) by Graham L — 20 Jul 2008
Proof that a big budget, fancy design, and A-list cast do not necessarily add up to a decent movie. This adaptation of one of the great American novels is hugely disappointing, with woefully underdeveloped characters, And an inexcusable Hollywood attempt to create sympathies with characters that Fitzgerald never intended us to sympathize with.
It's bloated nonsense, essentially.
