Mia Farrow as Daisy and Karen Black in the smaller role of Myrtle are really the only outstanding parts. Dern and Redford and Waterson have moments to shine, as well as the actor playing Wilson who bears an uncanny resemblance to Edward Norton; but the movie is overall an awkward adaptation of the novel.
