Review of The Great Escape (1963) by Christopher S — 24 Mar 2011
Great cast, great plot, one of the best of it's genre. Brickhill's novel is well adapted without losing any of the parts hat made it a thrilling read. The fact the basic premise of the story is true makes it all the more riveting.
Includes some standout performances from McQueen (the epitomy of cool), Pleasance (sympathetic rather than creepy for a change) and a who's who of British character actors.
