Review of The Great Dictator (1940) by Manny C — 16 Aug 2008
Chaplin cleverly delivers a performance void of subtly skewering a well known dictator at the time. He also star as a hapless hairdresser confused with the mad despot. Chaplin's first talking feature is an under-appreciated classic of satire.
