Review of The Great Dictator (1940) by Gareth B — 23 Aug 2008
Words can't describe how much I love this film. It's as timeless as it is seemless. Chaplin, like everyone else at the time, not fully aware of what went on, this film is like facing up to a bully, and reducing him to the size of a garden pea by pokeing fun.
Chaplins first of few talkies, it's just sublime.
