Review of The Great Dictator (1940) by Srinjoy C — 12 Jan 2009
For his first talkie I got to hand to him he played hitler to a tea as well as the barber, its so hilarious especially the part on the roof with all the luggage in his hands and drops everything, when he's playing with the globe ,the wonderful speech scene which was a very controversious scandal at the time of hitler but nonetheless he delivers it to cinematic effect,i dont think there is a role he can't do,even when he started talking in the movies he was still magnanimous.
........thats the miracle of chaplin.
