Review of The Great Dictator (1940) by Aj S — 21 May 2009
Without a doubt the first GREAT political satire in film. Chaplin takes shots to Nazism and Hitler in the most hilarious of ways. This is his first talkie film, so it's really interesting to actually hear Chaplin's voice.
One scene I truly love and basically sums up the film is the Globe Scene. You're just left with a smile after that, and of course the final speech in the film, I defy anyone to not be choked up after watching that.
