Review of The Great Dictator (1940) by Fabrizio B — 26 Dec 2009
"The Great Dictator" is a great, brilliant movie by Charles Chaplin.
It's amazing to think that it was realeased in 1940 even if it teases Germany... and the dictator of course.
Chaplin did a great job in acting and directing this historical masterpiece, that should be seen not only because it's perfect portrait of those years, but also because Chaplin is probably the greatest artist movies have ever seen.
The scene in which he plays with the Globe is just amazing, it tells everything even if there's no dialogue in it. Not to mention the final dialogue, which let me with no word to say... simply amazing, those last words are still so current. Chaplin is great!
