Review of The Great Dictator (1940) by Brad S — 25 Jan 2015
- Just watched again on blu-ray, and the film looks amazing. Such a funny film, yet also powerful. Chaplin really was something special and I am enjoying re-watching his films.
- This is the first time I have seen this and was blown away. There are some classic comedy bits such as his dance with the Globe, but also some great dramatic moments such as his speech at the end of the film, which is essentially just Chaplin talking directly to the audience pleading for acceptance and peace. Very highly recommended!
