Review of The Great Dictator (1940) by Robyn M — 21 Aug 2012
*I'm certain I've made a comment on this film in the past... where'd it go ZIP!?*.
The Great Dictator is ingenious, provocative of its time and a classic all the same. Charles Chaplin transcended Adolf Hitlers lunacy and conqured the greatest performance of his career. As the final film Charles Chaplin paid respect to his heriatage of being Jewish in his witty and sarcastic british form.
