Review of The Great Debaters (2007) by Josh H — 20 Feb 2009
An enduring underdog story about the prolific debate team from Whiley College, a small African American school in Marshall, Texas during the civil rights movement in the 1930s, and their journey to face Harvard's champion Crimson team.
Slightly on the cheesy side but inspiring none-the-less. This movie is everything you would expect a movie like this to be, which in my mind, isn't always a bad thing. Denzel directs like he acts. The movie is intense and the debate scenes are well Choreographed.
