Review of The Great Debaters (2007) by Dan S — 26 Oct 2009
A solid drama concerning a little-touched on subject, how an African American college debate team came together during a painful period in American History. Washington, as always, makes this film watchable due to a dominant performance of a respected leader who was influential to his students.
He just has that rare ability to make movies with some very cliched elements watchable due to his great acting ability. The ending debate really brings the goods, too.
