Review of The Great Debaters (2007) by Brian W — 11 Feb 2012
Really well done "based on a trie story" movie about about a team of exceptional debaters from a black college in Texas who break stereotypes in the segregated south to prove that they are just as good as any white debate team. Along the way, they come face to face with the social realities of segregation and lynching, anti-communism and union busting during the 1930s.
The acting all around was excellent, and Denzel (as per usual) puts the fire into his performance. I would not want to debate that guy, ha.
I can easily recommend folks see this movie.
