Review of The Great Buck Howard (2008) by Kelsey G — 09 Sep 2009
This is a light, breezy film that still mostly fails to work even with its small aspirations. Malkovich is good as the "mentalist", and while his character is meant to be mysterious, he's too underwritten, as well as Colin Hanks' lead role, and especially Emily Blunt's thankless sidekick turn.
Ultimately, though, it just isn't funny. The one time I laughed was a throwaway line from the always-funny Steve Zahn.
