Review of The Great Buck Howard (2008) by Kei T — 09 Sep 2009
I think that the reason this movie didn't gain as much acclaim as it should have is because it's really hard to put it in any category. The great acting of Malkovich is clear, and the perfect fit of Colin Hanks, who never seems to fit in any role, are the obvious pluses to this movie.
But in addition to those things the story is unique, well written, and loaded with enough subtle comedy to keep you glued and entertained. At a quick pace of 87 minutes, this movie doesn't waste anytime with unnecessary scenes.
Really good, polished film.
