Review of The Great Beauty (2013) by Cris A — 27 Jan 2014
Every decade or so there is a film which so spectacularly ravages as a deep philosophical treatise and this is one of those films. Both superficial and profound in its exploration of life, death and the things in our surroundings that inspire us.
All of it set in the chaotic and contradictory constantly self indulgent world of Rome. Cinematography that takes your breath away. An Italian odyssey with just a hint of french enigma.
